The 6 Month Comparison

We went to the doctor today for Bryant's 6 month check-up (and three more shots)
Bryant's 6 month stats were:
length - 27.25 inches (73%)
weight - 18 pounds 5 ounces (63%)
head circumference - 45.5 cm (95%)
Bryant has pretty much stayed in the same ranges for weight and head circumference, but his length has been anywhere from 69% to 81%.  I think it sort of depends on how much he feels like stretching out that day.  Today he was more interested on sucking on his toes, so I don't think he felt like measuring as long:)

I know all of you probably laughed when I said I did a graph comparing Bryant and Travis length and heights at the different stages, but I bet you all can't wait to see this month...
Compared to Travis - their lengths were identical, but Bryant has been packing on the pounds (in a very healthy way, of course!) and weighed over a pound more than Travis did at 6 months (17 pounds 4 ounces).
So, after much anticipation, here are your charts:)

Avocado

Bryant has been doing well with sweet potatoes, so tonight he got introduced to his second solid food...avocado.  Judging by the smile on his face, I would say they were a hit too!

Bryant and Daddy

Over Christmas, we picked up some of Travis' clothes that he wore as a baby from his parent's house.  Last Sunday, I dressed Bryant up in them and had a little mini photo shoot.  We only got through one outfit before we had a little meltdown, which I realized afterwards was probably due to the cold/ear infection.  Thanks for being such a trooper little man!  I got a few more pictures in another outfit today, so here's what Bryant would have looked like if he was raised over 30 years ago:)

The boots were way too big, but I couldn't resist putting them on!

I took this picture because his little backside was so cute, but it also shows that almost all of his hair from when he was born has fallen out.

I should have known after this picture that Bryant was ready to be done...

And here is that same outfit 30+ years ago...

Travis at 5 1/2 months
Everyone comments that Bryant looks like Travis, which I can see some similarities, but Travis and I also see some of me in him.  So, what do you think...does Bryant look like his daddy?  Make sure to vote in the poll.  (If you are viewing from your mobile phone, you may have to view the web version)

We'll see at Bryant's doctor appointment on Monday how their length compares...Bryant weighed in when we went to see the doctor for his ear infection and definitely increased at a faster rate than Travis, so if that is any indicator of his length increasing, we are going to have one tall boy!

6 Months

I decided that I prefer to say Bryant is 6 months old rather than half a year old because it doesn't seem like half a year has gone by already.  For some reason, 6 months doesn't sound as old!  To celebrate his 6 month birthday, Bryant got...an ear infection:(  He has had a lingering cold since he went back to daycare after Christmas and last Saturday it flared up again.  We took him to the doctor on Monday and sure enough he had an ear infection.  The doctor gave him some antibiotics and recommended Tylenol and a humidifier.  I went to get the drugs and tasked Travis with the humidifier.  Travis scored major dad points when he came home with Oscar the Owl.  Bryant is completely mesmerized by it!

Bryant is now on the mend and was having fun playing and making faces with daddy the other day.

It was in the 40s in Helena today, so we took advantage of the nice weather.  Bryant got all bundled up in his hat and mittens and we went for a walk.

Mmmm...Solids!

When we ordered Bryant's high chair, I told Travis that Bryant could have solids when it came in and we didn't have to wait for his official 6 month birthday. The high chair came in yesterday, so Bryant got solids!

Who wouldn't want to eat sweet potatoes with a front end loader spoon?

Let me help!

What is this????
So, the first batch was a little chunky and Bryant wasn't a big fan.  I love my boys faces in this picture...Bryant kept gagging the food back up and Travis was mimicking him:)
We took a little break and made the sweet pototoes a little less thick and tried again.  This time it was a huge success!

Having a full belly gave Bryant lots of energy to play in his jumperoo!

Adventures

Last Friday, we took Bryant to his first basketball game.  We went to watch one of the girls that I used to babysit play for the Helena High freshman team.  How does everyone grow up so fast?  He loved all the action in the game and was the after game entertainment for all the moms in the crowd.  He was smiling so big and put on quite the show:)

Travis had last weekend off, so we had a couple fun activities planned, but they were cancelled when little man came down with a cold and a fever of 102.  He is doing better now and just has a bit of a lingering cough.  Even though we didn't get to go "play" as planned, we still enjoyed our sick baby snuggles.

We recently raised Bryant's jumperoo up one level...this boy is growing like crazy!  He has been having a blast in it lately with his favorite thing being jumping from one leg to the other.  I'll try to get a couple videos posted soon:)

Playing with his toys has become so much more fun; he even took a break from playing to give me a smile.

Playing also takes a lot of concentration...

He decided that playing with his stuffed animals in his crib is way more fun than sleeping

One of Travis' good college buddies was in Bozeman on Friday, so we made the trip up to see him and catch up.  Bryant thought Tim was so much fun that they didn't want to stop and smile at me for pictures.

I had been working so hard to get Bryant's stocking done by Christmas, but I ran out of time.  December went by way too fast!  I finally got it finished, so here it is

As Promised...

So, I wasn't kidding when I said I would overwhelm you with pictures of our little man after I got my new camera.  He's so cute who wouldn't want to take lots of pictures of him, but he's also changing and growing every day!  His new "trick" is that he has now found his feet, which makes it really hard to get pants on him.

Do I look like the bulldog on my shirt?

Sitting up like a big boy
He also has started imitating what Travis calls the "tongue snare drum"
