Merry Christmas!

What an amazing day filled with family, fun, presents, and good food.  Here are pictures to document our Christmas with both sets of grandparents.  You'll also notice that Bryant has a black eye.  He tripped over a toy at daycare on Monday and has got a little bruise to show for it.

Checking out the stockings and pointing out Santa

Bryant was really funny with his stocking.  He was a bit cautious and would step back, then look in his stocking again.

Showing off some of his stocking presents
He loved reading his new books

But, nothing can compete with the fun that comes with a box!

He loves riding his new sled around the house.  I can only imagine what he thinks when we take it outside.

Legos were a huge hit and he was proud to show off his building skills

Again with the boxes...

After the whirlwind of opening presents, Bryant was ready for a nap.  While he was sleeping we set up more toys.  After his nap, he came downstairs and this was the reaction to his tent / tunnel

He loved it!

It was a very Merry Christmas, but I think we are all a bit tired and will sleep well tonight...including Mocha

Merry Christmas and thanks to all who helped make our family's Christmas so special!

Santa

I was out shopping the other day and saw the cutest little outfit on sale and thought it would be perfect for pictures with Santa.  Last year, Bryant smiled like crazy at Santa, and I had a feeling that this year, we wouldn't be so lucky.  I wanted to get some good pictures of him in his outfit before we went to see Santa.  We took a lot of pictures and I had a hard time deciding which ones I liked best, so you get to see a lot too!

Bryant has really been into kicking things around lately, especially his beach ball.  I think he'll really enjoy playing soccer when he gets old enough.  Today, he decided to kick around his football and these next two pictures look like he's preparing to kick a field goal.

We also tried to recreate some of the pictures from last year with the Charlie Brown characters.

I pulled up last year's pictures (link) and we can't believe how much he has grown!

And now for Santa...this was Bryant's first reaction...

We got him calmed down enough for this picture, but there was no way he was going to give us a smile.

I don't think his visit with Santa was too tramatic though because he'll still say Santa (Ah-ta).  So, at least for this year, he prefers to just see Santa from a distance.

My Little Rabbit

We spent last Saturday at my parents house making cookies for Christmas. Bryant got in the spirit too and wore his newest hat!

Bryant played lots with Grandpa so Grandma and I could cook. Bryant decided he wanted to play Mr. Potato Head while sitting in his treat seat. My brother had recently sent Mr. Potato Head along with a lot of other toys that his girls weren't using anymore. He is loving playing with all the new toys. It is like a pre-Christmas Christmas!

We got a credit card ad in the mail the other day, which Bryant thought was super fun

Now, to explain my Blog title...it is hard for me to admit, but my boy is growing up and today was his official first day in the next room at daycare. He is no longer a frog and is now in the rabbit room. I am sure it was more of a transition for me than him, but they now sleep on cots and don't get sippy cups anymore. His little buddies moved up with him, which helps too. It has also been fun watching how much Bryant has changed in the past week. He has started humming when he hears songs, dancing, and trying to use or repeat more words. We went out for dinner tonight and Bryant was saying "bye" to everyone that left. His "bye" cracks me up because he does it with a little southern drawl.

So to summarize my long story, here are Bryant's last pieces of art work as a frog:)
I don't think Bryant was wanting to color this day. Hardly any crayon made
it on the paper!

And last but not least, evidence of Bryant's dance moves. Who needs music?

Prepping for Christmas

Now that Thanksgiving is over, I can start thinking about Christmas.  I ordered a poinsettia, which got delivered the other day and got me in the Christmas spirit.

Bryant was wearing red and matched the poinsettia, so I thought I had a great opportunity for pictures.  However, Bryant had his own agenda and I wasn't able to get any of the pictures that I had imagined.
"Do I eat it?"

"Do I blow on it"

"Okay, if you give me another toy, I'll smile"
We got our tree yesterday and started decorating today.  Bryant was really intrigued by the ornaments and lights.

"Oooooooo!"

After all decorations were up (minus the outside lights...-6 degrees was just too cold!), we got to enjoy some hot chocolate by the fire.  Yum!
