Memorial Day Weekend

We had beautiful weather this weekend, so Bryant wanted to play ball outside all day. It went everywhere with him, including down the slide

He found his Adirondack chair and then that had to go everywhere with us

So we decided to have a campfire with smores

He looks skeptical, but don't let that fool you. He loved them!

First Haircut

On Tuesday night, Bryant went in for his very first haircut.  They had him sit in my lap and he did so well.  The hairdresser commented that he was her most well behaved client all day:)

They even gave us a little card with his first hair trimmings

And they gave him a sucker!

Both Daddy and Bryant were looking sharp with their new haircuts

And got to celebrate with a bowl of ice cream...open wide!

Bryant's hair had gotten so long in the back, I told Travis that I couldn't remember the last time I actually saw his neck!

Besides the haircut, I have a few more pictures from yesterday and earlier this week.  Can you believe how grown-up this little boy looks in his 3T clothes, Chuck Taylor shoes, and a fancy new haircut?

Yummy Shake!

Bryant loves the tractor when it is not turned on and loves it from a very safe distance when it is on.  Trav mowed the lawn the other night and Bryant kept saying "Where go?" and "There he is."

We have also had lovely weather the past couple days, so we decided to pull out Bryant's chair and have dinner outside.

Hi!
I am a couple days early for a 22 month post, but close enough.  It has been really fun to watch Bryant playing lately and he is getting better about using his words to explain what he wants.  Everything has a sound effect that goes with it, whether it is an animal, car, or anything else he can think of.  He loves to play ball and "catch".  He has gotten into singing some songs lately.  Tonight he specifically requested the spider song (Itsy Bitsy Spider) and the Butterfly song he learned at gymnastics.  He is getting close to counting and pretty much knows all the numbers from 1 to 10, but when you ask him to count he points to the object, says 1, 2, points to another object, says 1, 2, and keeps going.  He obviously doesn't have the concept of counting down, but it is pretty cute to listen to.  He has turned into a night owl, probably with it not getting dark out until later, so we haven't been getting to bed much before 10:00 lately.  It is hard for me to believe that he is almost 2 years old, but with his new stylin' hairdo, he sure looks like he is almost 2, if not older:)

Pictures

I am finally getting around to uploading the pictures on my phone from before Mother's Day.  Travis recently started playing on a slow pitch softball team, so we went to the store to pick out a mitt. Turns out they were right by the bikes, so we test drove a few.

Then when we got home, we had to play catch. Now every night Bryant wants to play ball when we get home.

Bryant is now tall enough to sit at the table like a big boy (and climb into our tall kitchen chairs on his own); however I am going to use his high chair as long as possible. Probably more to contain the mess but partially because  he seems like he is already growing up too fast!

Happy Mother's Day

I have a couple pictures on my phone that I have been meaning to upload, but just haven't taken the time.  But, this video couldn't wait...Bryant has been going through a phase where he does not want to go to bed.  We tried to get him to take a nap today, but he was not interested.  By the time dinner rolled around, he was exhausted!  Bryant has never crashed before and the little snooze while trying to eat his yogurt was all he got today.
I guess that meant more mommy time on Mother's Day:)

York, Parade, and More!

I was in Phoenix earlier this week and there is no better feeling than having your little boy run into your arms when he picks you up at the airport.  It was a beautiful day when I got back, so after a little bit of playing in the garage, we headed to York for some food and fun.

Bryant is obsessed with driving everything, so he has to drive the lawnmower

 and Trav's dirt bike

York has a really nice playground that rarely has any other kids.  As you can tell by the big grin on his face in all the pictures (and the smudge of York Peppermint Patty on his chin), Bryant had a lot of fun!

Waving to daddy - "Hi!"

"tunnel"

When Bryant gets to the top of the slide, he always asked for a "hand"

It wasn't long before he was comfortable enough to go without a hand.

Today was the Vigilante Parade in downtown Helena.  Bryant was pretty intrigued - he really liked the animals and the trucks when they honked their horns.  He occassionally would clap and wave too.

It obviously wore him out because he was asleep before we even got a block away from the parade.  I kept pushing his head back, but it kept falling forward - must have been extremely sleepy!

In other exciting news, we purchased a second home today.  We are doing a little bit of remodeling and then will rent it out.  It also came with two lots, so hopefully in the near future, we can build a couple more rental houses.  The yard is fenced, so Bryant just loves to run around outside.
