The beginning of May, we started Bryant in swimming lessons. I missed the first lesson because I was travelling for work, but Bryant did great. The next two lessons, he didn't want to do much. After last Monday, I was going to post that he likes the pool, but swimming is not his deal.
In fact, he much prefers playing in the gym after swimming lessons.
Then, we watched one of his favorite cartoon characters (Peppa Pig) swimming and the next thing I know, he loves swimming lessons. He was jumping in and getting his head wet, which for some kids isn't much, but it was a huge step for Bryant in the pool. This was him today:
We have been playing a lot of baseball around the house lately. I'm guessing it is because Travis and I are on a softball team together. Regardless, Bryant has been making huge strides in hitting the ball. He is super excited to start t-ball this summer. In fact, I could probably take a couple lessons from him now. Funny story from our last softball game - Bryant was sitting with my parents and asked if I was in the doghouse. Grandma explained that technically it was called a dugout, but that mommy may have been in the doghouse after my last hit made it about an inch in front of home plate.
On another note, he has been so talkative lately and I think a lot of it has to do with him moving to the Bear room at school. He's been singing up a storm in the car and Bryant's made a new rule for me - I'm no longer allowed to sing in the car...I didn't think I was that bad of a singer! Leave it to kids to tell the honest truth:) Without looking at the camera, here's Bryant's version of Old MacDonald had a farm.
Bryant was invited to another birthday party for a friend at school, so we were on our way to town to pick out a birthday present. At the store, we were checking out some sound systems and Bryant busted out some sweet dance moves:
Then he went to the Bug themed party where he got to dig in the dirt for bugs.
And then they played Pin the Tail on the Donkey. I had never seen Bryant play the game before, but when they asked if he had played it, he said yes. So he put on the mask and put the tail right on the donkey. I have no idea how he got so close, but he won!
He loved hanging out with his buddy and they crack me up because Bryant's got a good 5 inches on the kid already! It's not a very good picture, but Landon was giving Bryant a hug and thanking him for his present. Bryant's idea of a game was to have Landon chase him. Poor Landon never stood a chance when Bryant's legs are twice as long, but around and around they went!
This was one of Bryant's party gifts - isn't he stylin'?
The other day, I got a report from daycare that Bryant got in trouble, which is out of the ordinary for him. His new room has stairs that lead to a little fort area with an indoor slide. Our daredevil child, who is ironically very cautious about most things, decided that he should jump to the ground from about 4 stairs up. I have a bad feeling that the broken collarbone may be the first of many jumping injuries. He loves to jump - in fact he set this up the other morning and wanted me to record him jumping:
