Basketball Season

In case you were wondering if my delay in posting was due to baby coming early, it wasn't!  We've been busy playing Bryant's newest obsession of basketball:)  But first a couple other pictures.

Although we didn't make it until midnight, this was Bryant's hat he made at school to ring in the new year.

That weekend, we cleaned up our Christmas decorations and took down our tree.  I could have sworn I looked under the tree on Christmas for any presents we may have missed, but I didn't do a very good job because I found another present under the tree.  Bryant was ecstatic to find out it was a Captain America shield.  He kept talking about how now he has a shield like Kaleb and they can play Captain America at school.

My parents have tickets to the Carroll basketball games that we took while they were away on vacation.  Bryant loved watching the basketball games, but was disappointed that there weren't any cheerleaders.  His favorite question was "Is it snack time yet?".

At halftime, he gets quite the loot and also ended up eating a hot dog each night too (and yes we fed him dinner before the game!).

I am absolutely amazed at how much he picks up watching the basketball games.  He's been obsessed with playing basketball at home each night.  His shot has gotten so much better, but what he picked up from the Carroll games was how to post up:

And according to Bryant, he kept getting fouled, so he got to shoot free throws.  But his rules are that he gets to make two free throws instead of just shooting two free throws.  And more recently, he's developed a free throw routine where he dribbles the ball and takes a deep breath before he shoots.

Last Saturday, we took him to a Bobcat basketball game.  He was super excited for cheerleaders and snacks and we of course had to come home and play more basketball.  This time though, he had to run out of the tunnel with our makeshift bobcat flags (like the cheerleaders) and Travis and I had to clap and cheer and give high fives because Champ the mascot loves high fives. (and now poor Mocha is our Bobcat mascot)  Then he would make a couple baskets and then pretend to get injured.  We would have to check on him and take him to the locker room.  Then we'd talk in the team timeout and repeat over and over.

After the game, he saw some kids getting a picture with the Bobcat, so he wanted one too.

On the way home, he was taking pictures with my phone.  Most of them were the back of my seat, but he did capture a smiling selfie!

The next day, we were cleaning up a bit upstairs when I heard "cheese, cheese".  I looked over and he had his hand around Mocha pretending to have his picture taken, so I had to capture it on camera:)
