I've collected quite a few pictures over the last couple weeks, so this post has lots of smiling kiddos! First off a couple random pictures from around the house.
Summer to our house means watching lots of Brewers baseball. We went to our first game on Saturday before Father's Day.
Baseball games aren't games without Super Ropes:)
Bryant was really into calling strikes!
Then on Father's Day, we headed to Lewis and Clark Caverns before we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house in Whitehall. The hike up had a really pretty view.
We came all prepared with the backpack for Garrett to find out that we couldn't use it, so we borrowed one of their front packs. Garrett wasn't a big fan, so for Father's Day, Travis got to do an 18 pound static bicep hold for 2 hours.
The start of the cave! Bryant was nervous about seeing bats. Our tour guide told us if we were quiet, we wouldn't scare the bats. Bryant listened very carefully, so he promptly shushed Trav and I when we were talking.
It's Batman! Garrett liked flying through the caves and looking at the lights...
...and his brother.
They gave out books at the end. Poor Bryant was so exhausted; he fell asleep trying to read it.
Here are the gifts they made at school for Father's Day. I was a bit worried about the first present because I was asking Bryant what he was making for Dad for Father's Day and he told me he picked out a circle for me to put my earrings in. It did turn out to be an award for Dad:)
These brothers love to spend all day together. This was how Bryant wanted to read books the other night:
Garrett has been waking up a couple of times each night because he's hungry and sometimes he gets to sleep in our bed, especially when it's close to us having to get up for the day. Garrett looked so grown up snuggled up with Dad's pillow.
This last week was our second week of t-ball. The first week was awful for everyone. Bryant wouldn't play at all and kept saying he just wanted to go home and quit t-ball. I wouldn't let him quit because I knew he was just being shy and that he truly has fun playing baseball. So we talked about it a lot and he was going to finish the season. The next day, I got an email that his coach quit! Ha! The second week went way better. He practiced with a bit of ice cream bribery and then he played in the game (with no bribery)! He even sat with his team without us, ran the bases without us, batted without us. He had a blast and we were so proud!
Look at the determination on his face!
He was definitely still shy playing defense. His teammates were basically tackling each other to get the ball, so Bryant just watched. He has one little girl (Hailey) on his team; you can see her in the back of the picture. She was having quite the conversations with Travis. "I like a lot of desserts...my favorite is popsicles". I love this age:)
Here's the first at bat:
And the 2nd at bat:
This Saturday, we headed to Lowe's to build Iron Man.
When we got home, he wanted to keep building, so we built a monster truck. It had extra stickers, so Garrett became a monster truck too...he didn't seem to mind!
Garrett has been getting so close to rolling over. He was playing, rolled onto his side, and fell asleep.
Later we headed to the car show in town. Garrett does really well in the backpack; I'm glad we picked that up this year because he sure doesn't like the stroller yet.
Just in the past week, he has really started enjoying his jumperoo.
I was greeted by this cute smile this morning!
And it's official, we had our first rollover today! Both Garrett and Bryant rolled from back to tummy first. He was so proud of himself.
Just moments later he fell asleep; rolling over is exhausting!
In other news, Travis has been building Bryant a drill powered go-cart. It's so close to being finished, so Bryant took it out for a test spin. I definitely have one cautious little boy.
