I'm finally getting a chance to upload some pictures. Even though the summer days are longer, it still doesn't feel like enough time in the day to get everything done. We've been busy the last couple weeks. First off, we donated some clothes to Goodwill and found a bike there that was a perfect size for Bryant.
He wasn't sure about it, so he kept wanting to ride his smaller pedal bike.
But after a couple minutes of convincing, he tried it out and hasn't stopped since! He likes to brake hard, so you can see all his skid marks!
We got him a little "computer" for his bike, so it tracks how many miles he rides and how fast he goes. I think the first day we put it on, he did over 5 miles!
Garrett is still our happy little baby!
After riding for 5 miles, this happened...they both crashed!
Garrett has really started loving solids (as you can see by the small piece still on his face). He has tried quite a few foods including apples, bananas, pears, peaches, prunes, carrots, squash, avocado, sweet potatoes, peas, green beans. So far the only things he isn't crazy about are peas and green beans.
There hasn't been very many long periods of sleep in our house lately because both kids usually take over our bed earlier and earlier each night...
The other weekend, we headed to the cabin to meet up with Trav's sister and family. Of course we had to stop at our usual lunch place in Ennis and ride the toys.
The cousins loved Garrett and he was a lot more mobile than the last time they got to hang out.
We rented up stand up paddle boards for the weekend. Everyone thought they were a blast! Travis tried it out Friday night. You definitely need to start out on your knees until you feel comfortable.
Then the cheers started coming for him to stand up (and then to fall down).
He did really well and only fell once. I love Garrett's reaction!
The next day everyone got to try them out.
Bryant even felt comfortable enough to stand at one point!
That night we had a campfire and smores. I was lucky enough to have two silly four year olds on my lap for a little while:)
The next morning, the kids went on a scavenger hunt
which wore Garrett out.
They play so well with each other!
Apparently those who fell in the lake enough, also found leeches. You can see "Larry" on Trav's hand that we kept as a pet for a day.
Playing "family". Madeline was the mom, Olivia the kid, and Bryant the puppy.
Garrett missed having his jumperoo at the cabin and he has been jumping like crazy every since.
It was a little chilly the other night when we went for a bike ride, so we pulled out the hats. This was the first time Garrett actually enjoyed the stroller ride...yay!
The cousins came up for one last visit before they headed back home. We happened to have enough bikes and helmets of all different sizes for everyone to have fun!
And the carousel is always a big hit!
Have you ever seen a kiddie scoop that big???
Poor Garrett didn't get to ride the rides or get ice cream, but he still had a ton of fun! He's also been getting stronger and can sit by himself for pretty long periods of time.
Cousin hugs!
We are so glad they were able to come visit and we are hoping to be able to do our annual trip down there in October.
