January Update

Garrett likes to take selfies especially when he sees he has a Bobcat on his shirt!

The boys are still having so much fun playing with all their Christmas toys.  This was laser tag the day after Christmas.

Bryant came to work with me one morning and thought it was so much fun!

Oh my heart...I just love their hugs before bed time!

It was so cold the week that Bryant was out of school for winter break.  We kept promising that we would go sledding when the weather warmed up, so it finally hit 5 degrees and we decided to go.  Garrett got all dressed up and then ended up falling asleep in the car and didn't get to go sledding at all.

Bryant and I made it down the hill a couple times and then we all headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house to warm up with some hot chocolate.

The boys love the karaoke microphone at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Garrett loves this little chair too.  He kept moving it around and never seemed quite satisfied with his placement of the chair.

Cleaning up Christmas decorations.

Which leads to more races down the hallway.

Grandma Susie crocheted a grocery bag and Garrett has adopted it as his superhero cape/blanket.

We went to the Great Outdoors Sports Show and watched an act about snakes.  (Notice Garrett has his grocery bag/ blanket?!)

We signed both boys up for swimming lessons in January.  Garrett was so excited to wear his America swim trunks that he didn't want to take them off!

The weather warmed up enough that we got outside to build snowmen.

Bryant loves to try and do "dude perfect" tricks and then they do chest bumps afterward.

Silly kid wanted his picture taken with his 'orange' teeth.

We have had thank you cards for Christmas done for awhile, but I just haven't gotten them in the mail.  I made Bryant do them by himself, so I had to include one as a sample.  He's getting better and better at writing, so we can get a pretty good idea at what he is writing.

We started a flower bulb at the same time as my parents and we had a bit of a competition as to who's was taller and was flowering first.  Bryant wanted to take a picture to send to Grandma and Grandpa and I am pretty sure this pose is saying "our plant is bigger than your plant"

The boys were in a cleaning mood and were making sure their little table was clean.

And then the sickness bug hit our house.  Ugh!  Both kids were out for almost a week each at somewhat different times and then Garrett got a second bug.  There weren't many days in January where we didn't have a kid at home sick.

A much kinder "our plant has a flower" look

Getting ready for Cat/Griz basketball.

With Bryant out of school with a cold, I wanted him to stay sharp on his reading/writing, so I told him he had to write me a sentence.  And this is what I got..."my mom likes to fart".  Gee, thanks bud.  I guess that's what my conversations have turned to with a household of boys.

Bryant came home with another good report card, so he got to go to a special dinner at Pizza Ranch (our version of Chuck E Cheese).

Something must have gotten into the fish water because we lost the last 4 goldfish in one night.  Bryant was pretty upset, so we got him some new fish.  Meet the black goldfish (Big Eye) and the suckerfish (Sucker).

We took the boys to a Carroll basketball game the other night.  Garrett gets a little antsy by the end of the game, but the boys love it.  They play basketball all the time at home.  I was downstairs cleaning today and Garrett was upstairs just shooting away.

Bryant was sitting down with Grandma and Grandpa so he missed out on our family selfie.

Bryant had his first birthday party with his new classmates and it was at the gymnastics place. Garrett went to and had so much fun in the foam pit.

Bryant had so much fun playing with one of his buddies (Noah) and they get to hang out again tomorrow for Noah's birthday party.  We ended up having Garrett's birthday party today so that Bryant could go to Noah's party.  When I was talking with Bryant about upcoming activities, I said that Garrett's birthday party was Saturday.  Bryant then said "No, Mom, remember?  We cancelled Garrett's birthday so I could go to Noah's party".  Ha!  No, we didn't cancel, just had it on a different day!

More to come for Garrett's birthday soon:)
