All Smiles

Bryant is smiling more and more each day and as you can see in the following pictures, he is almost guaranteed to smile while hanging out on his changing pad.

At 7 weeks, he has already changed so much.  Out of curiousity, we weighed him and measured his length to get an idea of how much he has grown.  We didn't use very accurate methods to determine these figures, so it'll be interesting to see how close we were when we go in for his 2 month appointment in a couple of weeks.  Based on our measurements, Bryant was 12.2 pounds and 23 inches long!

There has been 2 other big developments in the past week as well...
We transitioned Bryant to his "big boy bed" aka his crib.  Even though he looks tiny in there, he doesn't seem to mind because he usually sleeps about 6 hours straight during the night.

The othe development was more so for Mocha - she finally is feeling more comfortable around Bryant and first laid next to him for the first time.  Don't they look comfortable?

It didn't last very long, but after this, Mocha actually gave Bryant a kiss (another first for her).

Bryant's Nursery

Before Bryant was born, Travis and I spent quite a bit of time getting his nursery ready.  We went with a farm theme and hoped that he would like animals

We looked and looked for a dresser that we liked and couldn't find what we wanted, so Travis built it.  He did an awesome job and I'm sure it will be used for years to come.

Turns out that Bryant loves the animals in his nursery.  His changing pad is on top of the dresser and he could sit up there forever just talking and staring at Mocha and the pigs.  I think he finds the drawing of Mocha more entertaining than the real Mocha right now, but I'm sure that will change in the future:)

Fishing

With Travis' sister and family in town, we headed up to the cabin at Henry's Lake for some more fun.  Heather took some great group pictures that I'll have to steal, but in the meantime, here are a few pictures of the trip.

Bryant isn't old enough to fish, but his dad was.  He bought a fishing license for the weekend and had more fun on the pond then in Henry's Lake.

They fish were really fighting, but Travis maintained good form
It is not the size of the fish that counts, but how many you catch!

Bryant and I were spectators and were happy to take pictures with the man who caught the most fish on the weekend.

Bryant is 6 weeks old today too, so he took pictures with his animal friends at the cabin

We had a great time with all his family in town and look forward to their visit at Christmas!

New and Exciting Things

Bryant's newest "trick" is that he is starting to smile at toys and faces now.  Unfortunately he doesn't like to smile for cameras, so I've yet to capture a good smile.  Here is the closest I have gotten so far...

His head control is getting a little better, so we thought we would stick him in his jumperoo to see what he would do.  I think there was a bit of over stimulation:)  He's definitely got a little more growing to do before he can touch the ground too.

Bryant's Aunt Heather, Uncle Brian and cousins Madeline and Olivia came to visit, so we went to the carousel for some fun.  Bryant was content in his car seat, so his dad took advantage of the carousel ride instead

Bryant and Olivia are a little less than a month apart and they seem to already be communicating to each other.  The whole day they were on the same schedule - they slept, ate, and "played" at the same times.  They were both sleeping at the carousel and then both decided to wake up just a little...

Today, Bryant had his first experience at the park.  There were so many fun things that he'll enjoy when he is older, but in the meantime, Madeline was showing how much fun could be had.

Bryant ended up sleeping in the Moby wrap almost the whole time we were playing in the park, so in our little family photo op, all you see is his hat:)

He also watched the Bobcats for the first football game of the year.  He tried to wake up a little to cheer them on and it must have been all they needed because they won!

4 Week Update

Bryant is still too young for his stroller, but we had to pull it out the other day to see how he liked it.  Turns out he fits better down below and Mocha in the actual seat.

I attempted to take a couple of pictures on his 4 week birthday to show how much this little monkey has grown.
I always wonder what he's thinking...I feel like he's scheming up some big plan of escape here

I'm wondering if Bryant watched too much of the Olympics - he's already doing the Usain Bolt pose!

Trees

Travis had the weekend off, so we decided what better way to spend his time off than to work at home.  We bought seven trees for the one side of the house.  Travis was thinking that he was going to dig the holes by hand and I convinced him that renting a "dingo" with an auger would make his life so much easier.  He did end up renting the dingo and minus the 1.5 hours he had to spend repairing the track that came off, it was worth renting it.  Some of the holes were so rocky that it would have taken forever to dig by hand.

Bryant says that he is going to grow as tall as this tree

Okay, maybe not...the trees we bought were pretty tall to begin with, so hopefully they survive!

I felt bad because Travis was working his butt off in the heat this weekend to plant the trees and I couldn't help as much as I have in the past.  Little B and I did manage to make it outside for a little bit and as you can see, it sure can wear a baby out!

Time Flies!

It's hard to believe our little man is three weeks old already.  We haven't weighed or measured him since his two week appointment, but I know he's definitely growing since his newborn clothes are a little too snug now.

Bryant got his first pair of Nikes from a friend the other day, so we immediately had to try them on.

Bryant's "first steps" - you can see he's not too happy, but I'm sure when his shoes fit better, we won't be able to stop him from running around!

He also got his first pair of shades from a friend.  It was rainy in Helena today, so I thought if he wore his sunglasses during nap time that it might bring out the sunshine:)
