Captain America Ninja

We've talked to Bryant a little bit about Halloween, but he didn't know what he wanted to be.  At dinner tonight, Trav asked if he was going to dress up tomorrow for picture day.  Bryant got really serious and said "I don't know what I want to be for Halloween."  Then very excitedly decided he wanted to be Captain America because he fights the bad people and tigers.  Turns out 2 of his 3 best friends at school are going to be Captain America too.  His demonstration also quickly turned into Captain America Ninja.

On Sunday, Bryant was sitting on the couch with Mocha and asked for his picture taken with his doggie.  I'm not sure why he is wanting his picture taken so much lately, but I'm happy to take advantage of it because I'm afraid it won't last long.

We also had our 2nd ultrasound today.  Bryant didn't get to go so when we were talking to him about it, he was telling me all the things he was going to do for his baby sister (we still don't know what we're having and don't plan on finding out, so for now, Bryant is thinking he has a sister)  He was going to show her around his classroom and protect her, show her how to cough into her elbow, and teach her how to play with toys.  He loves being referenced as Big Brother Bryant:)

They did more 3D pictures today and if this baby is as active on the outside as she is on the inside, we are going to have our hands full!

Baby #2 Update and More

I can't believe how long it has been since I have posted...we had our ultrasound almost 3 weeks ago and I have yet to post pictures.  This poor 2nd baby is already not getting as much camera attention as I'm sure Bryant got!

We've had a bit of a cold bug floating around our house.  First it hit Bryant and then me.  Neither of us were too bad off; however, he definitely got in a good nap one day.  And if he wasn't eating much while he was sick, he has sure been making up for it lately.

He was so excited to dog sit for BeeDee.  He loves his Mocha dog, but she can't do walks like she used to, so he was all smiles when he got to walk both dogs to the mailbox!

We were doing some yard work to prep for colder weather and needed to take a load to the dump.  Bryant wanted to drive Dad's big blue truck.

Since Bryant was still a bit sick, he got to stay home from school with me and go to the ultrasound to see his baby.  He was pretty excited to get a monkey that plays his baby's heartbeat.

He takes good care of his baby's monkey and wanted to give it a piggy back ride on a walk to the mailbox.

Bryant has also really been into golfing lately.  While he misses quite a bit because he swings it like a baseball bat (which he says is just a practice swing), he can actually hit it pretty good when he connects.

The other weekend, we decided to bring him along as we golfed 9 holes.  Although we were informed he wasn't allowed to be on the course, he did great...and we let him tee off on one hole.

Afterwards, Grandma and Bryant made monster tongues...yummy!

Yesterday we went to have lunch downtown and I pointed out the bullwhacker statue to Bryant and he asked me to take his picture with it.

We have a full couple weeks ahead of us as we go in for another ultrasound and then start the drive to San Diego for another cousins vacation.  Should be fun!

Football Season

September 3rd was the first Bobcat football game of the year, so Bryant got all dressed up in his jersey for the day.

We went to the game, which was a night game, so we were all exhausted for work and school on Friday.  It took Bryant a little bit to warm up to the football game this year.  We walked in right as the fireworks shot overhead and the cannon went off, so it was all too noisy to start.  Once he got comfortable, he had a blast!

Now every morning, he wants to wear his jersey.  This was a completely separate day, but still the same jersey...looking pretty cool in dad's sunglasses!

Over Labor Day weekend, we decided to take a trip to Philipsburg to hit up their awesome candy store.  Bryant packed his backpack and was all ready for the road trip.  We convinced him to not wear his jersey, but it still had to be a bobcat shirt.

We made a quick stop outside Drummond to look at the metal sculptures and art museum.

We also heard they had a really nice playground by their school.  We went to check it out and Bryant definitely agreed.  We did a lot of fun stuff over Labor Day weekend, but Bryant's favorite part was the twisty slide:)

On Monday morning, we decided to go on a nature walk on the walking trail by our house.  As soon as we started, Bryant complained that his legs hurt, so we pretty much carried him the whole way.  As soon as we got home, he was running around like a wild man.

We've also planned our annual vacation to San Diego. As soon as we told Bryant, he wanted to immediately get in the car and start driving to Auntie Heather's house.  He was so disappointed that we weren't leaving right away that we had to make a countdown calendar.

We met up with Grandpa Jack for dinner the other night and he found my brother's old bobcat football and tee.  He thought Bryant would love to practice kicking...and he was right.  We immediately had to come home and play.

I always feel like we brag about how athletic Bryant is and how natural everything comes to him.  This was our humbling moment...

Bryant absolutely loves watching the video and thinks it is hilarious that he missed!  He did get better by the end of the night:)

On Saturday, we got to join Grandpa Jack on the sidelines for the Montana Tech vs. Carroll football game.  Definitely a different perspective from the field!

Even with the noise, Bryant fell asleep watching - he was one tired boy!

I also got a couple cute pictures of him the other night.  We were having him make different faces and I was taking advantage of him sitting still and smiling!

He just can't make a sad face without giggling!

We also were at Grandma Betty's and Grandpa Ed's house the other day and Bryant wanted to baseball set from Trav's old room.  He was so excited when we hung it up for him.  He couldn't believe all the stuff he could put on it.  We asked him if he wanted to get his mitt to hang it up.  His response "YEAH!!!!!!"

Oh and big surprise that he is wearing yet another Bobcat shirt...:)

Baseball and more

Bryant has been in a big baseball phase after t-ball.  He always is wanting to watch or play baseball, so we took him to watch another Brewers game the other night.

We've also been playing a bit of basketball, so he thought putting on dad's shoes would make him better.

We had some country music on while getting the shoes on, so here's Bryant's country music dance style:

We went and had burgers at York Bar and played in the playground a bit

And then headed back to town to watch some Little League World Series.  Bryant idolized these players, so much that he was copying their every move.  From practice swings, to running around the bases, to playing with his hair when they adjusted their helmets...he did it all!

Afterwards, he got a haircut.  Can you believe how old it makes my little boy look?

The other day, we had some time to kill before our dinner date, so I took Bryant to the store to get some more silly books.  He thought wearing silly masks was more entertaining.

He also got a belated birthday present and my dad found my brother's old batting glove from when he was little.  Who knew they made batting gloves that little!

The air in Helena has been really bad lately and outside play has not been recommended, so we've pulled out some of our fun winter activities.  This kid loves to paint!

Family Fun!

The other day, we were talking about getting funky and I asked Bryant if it knew what that meant.  He said yes, and apparently he did understand because this is how he got funky!

Last weekend, we had a little mini family reunion that included my parents, brother and family, Aunt and Uncle from Colorado, and my cousin from Massachusetts and her family.  We were meeting up in Fairmont, so grabbed some breakfast to go.  Bryant took about 3 bites out of his sandwich and then was too excited to eat.

The 5 cousin kids played hard all day.  These two were quite the baseball players!

I can't believe that the little flower girl in Trav's and my wedding is already 10!  Sophie was such a great big cousin - Zoey made a new friend right away.

Of course we had to say hi to the goats on the way to the pool and on the way back.  I didn't get any pictures at the pool, but the kids had a blast.  Bryant even went on the waterslide with Trav - twice!

This was Bryant's favorite goat.  When you have an extremely tired kid, you get a total meltdown when his favorite goat walks away...

Later that night, Sophie read Bryant book after book and Bryant made a new best friend.  

It was a good thing they came to Helena on Monday to see us again because Bryant couldn't stop talking about his older cousins and how they were his new best friends.  We did the Gates of the Mountains tour and Bryant even got to drive the boat for a little bit (can you tell he was a bit scared!)

Afterwards we headed to dinner.  Bryant was so excited to get to hang out with his cousins some more.  He kept doing extra silly things to try and get their attention.  He even was grabbing for Sophie's hand to have her walk with him by the end of dinner, which is a huge step for our shy little boy.  Just goes to show how much he adores them.  We'll definitely have to plan a trip out to Boston area to visit them now!

  

On another note, when I picked Bryant up from school today, he was so excited because as he said "I picked two beautiful flowers from the garden for you".  This little boy sure knows how to make mommy's heart happy:)
