Travis' sister and family were in town last weekend, so we had a full weekend of 4th of July festivities. I took over 300 pictures and had a hard time narrowing down my favorites, so this is an extra long post. Our festivities started with the parade in Ennis. We couldn't believe how many people were there to watch the parade. With his typical fashion sense, Bryant got ready for the parade.
We picked a nice shady spot at the end of the parade route which was really nice because it was HOT!
Bryant was not interested in taking anything from the strangers handing things out at the parade, but he did get a flag, which ended up in three pieces by the time we got to the cabin.
At the cabin, we met up with the rest of the family and all the grandkids got their own fishing pole.
Practicing fishing off the deck |
My little nieces are so photogenic so there are quite a few pictures of them too.
Olivia preferred the tackle box instead of the fishing pole |
We got out of the sun and had story time with the kids.
The cousins had so much fun playing together that Bryant decided he didn't want to take a nap.
So at 9:00 when we drove in to West Yellowstone to watch their fireworks show, this is what happened. We even took him out of his seat to watch the fireworks and he was not the slightest bit interested in waking up.
The next day the older boys headed out to go fishing, so the rest of us headed down to the dock to watch the boat take off. Bryant took to Madeline right away and was always by her side or holding her hand.
There is a little bridge on the way and I thought it was a great picture opportunity. Bryant was so excited by seeing the little stream, I'm surprised he didn't end up in it!
Most times when Bryant sees a body of water he usually says "tubby" thinking everything is a giant bath tub, but in this case he was at least saying water:) |
Getting 3 kids to smile at the camera, much less look at the camera seems impossible, so this was the best I could do for our little picture opportunity.
The kids all wanted to pick all the dandelions they could find and blow them around.
The kids all have the birthdays within a month of each other, so we had a birthday party for them.
Bryant gave hugs to his cousins to thank them for his presents
Bryant doesn't play with dolls much, so he was more than happy to help Olivia give medicine to her sick baby
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the birthday party and soccer goal!
You'll notice that Bryant isn't wearing his signature Bobcat hat - we thought we lost it, but thank goodness we found it! |
We usually had dinner outside and there was a little table that had 2 seats. Madeline and Olivia both wanted to sit next to Bryant, so we pulled another seat out and Bryant got to join them at the table.
This is one of my favorite moments from the weekend because Madeline would say "my Bryant" then Olivia would say "my Bryant". They went back and forth saying that and giggling. Bryant didn't want to be left out, so he started saying "my Bryant" too. From then on, Bryant was always asking where his cousins were if they were out of sight. On the trip home, Bryant even had to get in a couple more "my Bryant":)
More cousin hugs!
I love her smile! |
After more playing, Grandpa took the kids out for a boat ride.
I love this picture of Bryant and daddy on the boat! |
The next day we had more fun around the cabin and this is the face Bryant makes after throwing rocks into the lake
We attempted to let the little kids fish, so Bryant had to check out the worms.
Bryant didn't catch any fish this time, but I'm sure he'll get it down soon enough. On the last night we had a campfire with sparklers, fireworks, and smores.
Chillin' with Uncle Brian and Madeline by the fire |
A smiling cousin picture! |
We celebrated Grandpa's retirement on the last night and all the kids drew a picture for Grandpa and helped him read his card.
Hugs for Grandpa! |
The smoke from the fire makes the picture look a little unclear, but with these two only a month apart, we were trying to compare their height all weekend.
Bryant didn't get to see the fireworks the first night, but when he heard them on the last night, he definitely was a bit scared. |
He seemed to do okay with the sparklers though
We had such a great weekend and the cousins had so much fun together that it made it extra hard to leave. Thanks to Auntie Heather and family for making the trip to Montana - we can't wait to come visit you guys again!
