Another month has flown by! Looking back at the pictures, I can't believe how much the weather has changed since my last post. It was a good thing I logged on to the blog too because the "birthday ticker" showed me that Garrett is now 8 months old!
We went to a bobcat football game. Bryant always ask if we can go to the games for real, so he was super excited.
It was youth day, so we stuck it out for the whole game so the kids could play on the field afterwards. My videos won't upload for some reason, but Bryant loved diving in the end zone pretending to score touchdown after touchdown.
We went to have sandwiches afterwards - Bryant loves Firehouse Subs, obviously just for the fire hats.
Exhausted! He didn't want to take his eye patch stickers off the whole weekend.
Someone else wasn't the least bit exhausted...
Garrett is still our little ostrich and loves to bury his face in blankets. We had draped a blanket over the side of his crib and he rolled over, and pulled it into his face.
The boys got a present the other day...so fun!
Garrett has started eating puffs. He loves them and occasionally can get them from his hand to his mouth...
Our garden wasn't very successful this year, but we did get quite a few carrots.
We spent the night in our camper (in our front yard to make sure everything worked) before we put it in storage for the winter. The boys were beyond excited!!!
Garrett went for a ride around the loop and Bryant got to ride with dad in his new electric scooter. I'll upload a video when it starts working again...
Now that Garrett is getting more mobile, Bryant doesn't play as gentle. Garrett is sure a tough kid and LOVES when his brother plays with him.
In an attempt to try and get Bryant to be better about sleeping in his bed all night, we got him some fish for his room. He got 8 goldfish - only 4 of them have names that have stuck. Pirate (only has 1 eye), Lizard (grey fish), Paser (named after his guinea pig at school), and Tiger (striped). Bryant takes good care of his fish and has been doing a lot better with sleeping in his own bed...yay!
Garrett loves the fish too!
We went to Fall Fest in Townsend a couple weekends ago and Bryant got cotton candy. Sweet mustache!
The carts at Costco are fun because both kids can ride up front together...and Garrett loves the huge ceiling fans in Costco. Never noticed them until I had kids that love ceiling fans!
The other morning, Garrett let out a cry and Bryant immediately ran in there and climbed into bed with him and he immediately was happy. These brothers sure love each other!
They've started taking baths together too. So far, I haven't found that two kids is that much harder than one...until bath time together. Garrett loves to splash, so they splash each other (and me) and have the biggest belly laughs. So I'm trying to get them washed, keep Garrett sitting up, and trying to stay somewhat dry in the process. I have a video, so hopefully I can get it up soon. The other day it was funny because Garrett was splashing Bryant and Bryant got it in his mouth. He was upset and said "Garrett keeps splashing me in the mouth and it makes me sad, and I don't think I'm going to be able to be the big brother" (because big brothers don't cry.
All snuggled up for a movie on the couch.
We had a play date at Grandma and Grandpas the other day and had to try out their new toy...gear airplanes!
And Garrett got new pajamas.
He's been doing a head tilt lately that is just too cute. That and shaking his head no. Again, I wish my videos would upload...
Big head tilt!
Bryant wanted to feed Garrett and actually did a pretty good job. His only problem was that he couldn't feed him fast enough!
Garrett had a eczema looking rash around one of his eyes, so we took him to the doctor. Bryant also got his kindergarten shots and both kids got flu shots. If Bryant was tough, we promised we would get him his Halloween costume and some new snow boots. He wanted to be the Raphael Ninja Turtle.
He got a new hat and slippers too!
I'm pretty sure I have a picture of Bryant sleeping the same way as Garrett with the hat half covering his face.
We just finalized dates for our trip to San Diego, so Bryant wanted to make his paper chain. It's pretty short because we leave Tuesday. Bryant is so ready to go!
He is also very excited about Halloween, so we had to make a paper chain for Halloween too.
Grandma Susie made a new hat for Garrett...what you can't see is the football on top of the hat:)
Every year, our neighborhood does a Halloween "boo-ing" where you put a Halloween package on someone's doorstep and they have to do it to 2 other houses. Our package had a cake mix in it, so of course we had to make it right away. You'll notice a piece missing...Bryant couldn't wait for the cake to cool before we could frost it:)
As for an 8 month update...Garrett is still our super happy baby that belly laughs at just about anything. He is getting close to crawling - he rocks back and forth, army crawls, and crawls backwards, so I think he'll be on the go in the next couple weeks. He has tried a ton of foods and the only thing he doesn't like is peas. We even tried chicken noodle, which had the tiniest bit of peas and he did not like it at all! He is a good sleeper (about 8:30 pm to 7:30 am) with usually waking up for a short eating break. He loves to put things in his mouth. He is a feisty little wrestler as he pinches, pulls hair, and will slobber all over you. He likes to babble and wants to try to do everything his big brother does. We are looking forward to our road trip and we'll see what Garrett thinks of being in a car for 2 days straight...!
