Morning Ritual and More Basketball

Travis has the task of getting Bryant to daycare in the morning and the other day, he shared a video of their morning ritual with me.  Bryant puts on his shoes and races up and down the hallway to show that he can run fast and jump high in his new shoes!

What goes better with March Madness than cheese pizza?  According to Bryant, cheese pizza with olives!

We watched a lot of basketball over the past couple weeks and every time we watch, Bryant gets excited to play again.  This time he was dribble, shooting without an actual basketball.  The players would run across the court and Bryant would run across the room pretending as if he was in the game.  Pretty cute to watch!  You'll also notice he has his basketball shirt on...whenever this shirt is clean and in his drawer, you can bet he picks it out to wear!

More Weekend Fun

On Saturday, we went to the Science Fair put on by the local high school students.  Bryant had a lot of fun and I didn't get any pictures.  He went fishing and won some swedish fish, he dug for fossils and won a sticker, he got some ice cream dots, and his favorite activity - getting to pet the 1 month old baby cow.  Afterwards, we went for some lunch and Bryant got a milkshake.

Big smiles after the yummy milkshake!

On Sunday, we headed to town to find some new shoes.  We've tried a couple different times to get him some shoes, but he complains that the shoes are not comfortable (because they still have the tags on them).  We finally found a pair where he felt he could run fast and jump high.  We of course bought them to have him not want to wear them after we got home because they are no longer comfortable.  Gotta love the quickly changing mind of a two year old.  We also went to check out the bike helmets and he got distracted with the baseball helmet and bat.

Buying new shoes is exhausting!

He also has a new favorite activity of cutting paper.  We have tiny strips of paper everywhere...

The weather was really nice on Sunday, which convinced Bryant to change out of his favorite basketball shirt and into a Bobcat shirt.  When outside, he found the most entertaining toy of all...a cricket.  I think he would have been entertained for hours if the cricket could have kept up:)

Weekend Festivities

I found a video from about a month ago on my phone.  Bryant really likes to watch it, so  I thought I would share it...Go Cats Go!

A couple weekends ago, Bryant and I did some grocery shopping and when I got home I went to run a few errands around the house before I put the groceries away.  I came back to the living room to find this:

At least he chose the healthier option:)  That weekend, we also decided to go see the new exhibit at ExplorationWorks. We learned all about nanoscience and also built carbon atoms.

The weather had been so nice the past week, so last Friday we headed to Downtown Helena for an ice cream cone.  Bryant definitely approved!

We also found some play equipment on our stroll through downtown.

Saturday was another Monster Truck building day and this time Bryant invited his friends, Gage and Ryder, to come too.

So intense!

So hard to get them all to stand by each other and show their monster trucks!

And with warmer weather comes lawn mowers.  I love Bryant's face in this picture...you can't drive a tractor without making the appropriate driving sounds:)

Bryant's been loving the warmer weather and would spend every ounce of his day outside if we let him.  So on Sunday, we decided to let him try his bike outside.  We told him we would go to the mailbox and he was determined to make it all the way to the mailbox without any help.  He was a little more brave than Travis and I were ready for - it is harder to see in the videos, but there was a couple of times where he lifted his legs up and was just cruising downhill!

We've been measuring Bryant's height about once a month and when he was around 2, he was growing about an inch a month.  That started to slow down and I didn't even mark the difference between January and February because it was so minimal.  I've had a lot of comments lately about how tall Bryant looks, so I measured the other week and he grew at least an inch since February!  So for anyone that was concerned about Bryant not wearing a helmet on his bike, he wanted to but the one we got him last year is already too small.  We will be getting him a new one before the next round of biking!

We've also been making some progress towards potty training and it has only taken some bribing with a potty treat basket full of goodies from the dollar store!  We still are nowhere near close to being potty trained, but I can see a faint light at the end of the tunnel:)

More Basketball Videos

I promised there would be a lot of basketball videos for this kid.  I just can't help it...I think they are too cute!  It amazes me what he picks up from watching the games.  The other night he was 'posting up' and saying "I'm open, I'm open".  I decided to post two videos.  The first is the version that I like the best.

The second is the version Bryant likes best.  He watches it and just laughs so hard...I'm sure you'll figure out why after watching the first few seconds.  He thinks it is funny now - I bet he'll rethink that when he is older:)  I also think it is funny that if daddy doesn't throw him the ball, he'll go get it himself!

Monster Trucks!

Bryant was so excited all week that he was going to get to build a monster truck on Saturday.  We weren't sure how well he would do since it was intended for 7-11 year old kids, but he did awesome

This was the first couple of nails that he hammered in...

He gets a badge that he can put on his Lowes apron (which he didn't want to wear)

He was so proud and loved showing his monster truck off!

Here's his synopsis of what he did...

Such a fun time - we'll definitely be going back in a couple weeks to build a different monster truck!
