Meal Time and More!

Bryant is doing much better at meal time and I think it is because we are letting him eat more of what is on our plates instead of purees and letting him feed himself. I think he is going through a growth spurt as well because these last two days, he has been a bottomless pit and took some long naps at daycare. He was so excited for his berries at dinner tonight...notice he has berries up past his elbows!

I think he likes to talk to his hand too because he will often hold something up in his hand and jabber away at it.

After dinner, we had fun playing in
in the mirror. What started as slapping the mirror soon turned to "kisses" :)

10 Months

My little 10 month old boy is becoming such an independent man.  Meal time has become interesting.  He is not a big fan of purees anymore and wants to feed himself.  Apparently at daycare they had 3 babies that used high chairs and only 2 high chairs.  Bryant was one who got fed first and when he got his puffs, he would eat one and drop one to his friend waiting on the floor.  This surprised me because we have to give him puffs one at a time, otherwise they all go in his mouth at once.  But daycare did say that when his friend isn't there; there is no one at a time.  Dropping food on the floor at daycare also means that we drop food on the floor at home, which Mocha is liking more and more.  Right now his favorite foods are applesauce, bananas, puffs, and pancakes.

I think his personality is growing faster than he is.  He has a couple of tricks down, but doesn't always perform on command.  He will wave occasionally, loves to clap, and recently learned SO BIG!

He loves his dog and Mocha is so patient with him.  Bryant is understanding "no" now, but that doesn't mean he will always listen.  The two most common things that he earns a "no" with are torturing Mocha and trying to play with electrical outlets.  When we tell him "no", he'll turn and look at you then shake his head, smile, and try to continue doing what he shouldn't.  It's so hard to remain serious and not laugh!

He is getting better at pulling himself up on things.  He's not real interested in walking on his own and when you try to hold his hand and walk with him, he prefers to hop.

He loves anything that makes a lot of noise

He also likes to chase toys around the house

His fever from the weekend is gone and Monday, he was pretty much back to his normal self.  My parents came over and got to soak up some of his smiles:)

It's hard to believe our boy is double digits in months now...Happy Belated 10 month birthday, Bryant!

Memorial Weekend

Before we left for the weekend, Travis wanted to get the lawn mowed.  Bryant wasn't sure of it at first with the loud noise

But quickly felt ready to drive it himself.

Over the weekend, we headed to Trav's parent's cabin at Henry's Lake.  Not too far from the cabin is Mesa Falls.  Bryant loves water, so we thought he might like the waterfall
Getting ready to hike down to Upper Mesa Falls

The falls were gorgeous and we were right; Bryant loved them.  In fact, we could hardly get any pictures of him looking at the camera because he only wanted to look at the waterfall

On the hike back, Bryant encountered several wild animals

Then a quick stop at the Lower Mesa Falls

After a good nap, we decided to take his stroller for a ride around the lake.  Bryant got ready by putting on his shades

Hey fans, I'll be signing autographs later:)

Whee, Whee, Wheeee!!!

We saw lots of great views on our walk.
Swinging by the lake.  We have a similar picture from Labor Day weekend.  Our little boy has grown so much since then!
Look at all those snow flies swarming around us.

Love these boys!!!

Bryant wasn't his normal smiley self on Saturday and it turned out that he got another fever.  Hopefully, he's on the mend and it isn't another ear infection...
Either way, thanks for having us this weekend, Grandma and Grandpa.  We had a great time!

Videos and More

Bryant has some pretty entertaining games he likes to play lately, so I thought I would share some videos.  He likes to play peek-a-boo around the big bean bag.

He loves to look (and be) outside, so he'll often just stand at the door and bang on the window

He also loves to swat a ball around the room and chase after it.  It reminds me of soccer, but playing with his hands.  I can't seem to get a couple of the videos uploaded, but I'll try again in another post.

Bryant still loves shoulder rides from Daddy

His hair is getting long enough for a stylin' mohawk

On Sunday, Travis and I celebrated our 6th anniversary with a trip to Great Falls.  We went to the mall and then toured the Lewis & Clark Historical Trail Center.  Bryant got a sticker, which he loved (on his left arm) and we got to borrow a stroller to tour around with.

He wasn't a big fan of me holding Sacajawea's baby pack

But he did like touring the mountains on Daddy's shoulders
This was the first anniversary we got to celebrate since Bryant was born and we had a great time!

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day has to be my new favorite holiday.  Not because it is another day for me to get presents, but because it made me stop and appreciate how lucky I am to have such a wonderful little boy in my life.  My boys spoiled me and when I walked in to greet my happy little boy in the morning, I had a basket full of goodies waiting for me.
Bryant helped pick out my gifts and now we have a fun new book to read together!

and somehow he snuck in some licorice for us to share

I loved my day and was fortunate to be able to spend it with my boys, my parents, and we get to continue the celebration of Mother's Day through Wednesday so Bryant can say Happy Mother's Day to Grandma Handl.  Since the celebration continues, I'm not too belated in saying Happy Mother's Day to all Moms:)

Random Update

With the weather getting nicer, we are trying to get our yard completely done so that we can just enjoy it and play all summer.  So here are a few pictures from this week.

We bought some adirondak chairs to have around our firepit and of course, we had to get Bryant one too.
Mocha, that's MY chair!

Ahhh, much better!

Bryant is very interested in all foods that we are eating and wants to try them too.  I was eating a piece of licorice the other night.  Okay, multiple pieces of licorice, but who's counting:) And Bryant wanted to try some, so I let him gnaw on the end.  Apparently one can have a sweet tooth without actually having any teeth!

Park Fun

We had gorgeous weather today so we ventured off to the park for some fun. Bryant loved to swing by himself

And with dad

He also liked riding the horse

He was kicking
in excitement on the swing!

Awhile back, I posted a picture of the happy baby we wake up to where Bryant was laying on his tummy in his crib. Now this is the happy baby we wake up to...
