April Update

I can't believe how fast the past couple weeks have gone and it seems like both my boys grew like crazy in just that short amount of time.

Garrett's facial expressions are the cutest.  He's usually super smiley, but occasionally we do something that makes him pout.  This pouting session was brought to you by Travis singing the country song by Lady Antebellum...I Run to You...Garrett apparently didn't want anything to do with running!

They had picture day at school and although Garrett isn't in school yet (he starts May 9th), I asked if I could bring him in to have his picture taken with Bryant.  So we got all dressed up and when we got there, Bryant refused to have his picture taken with Garrett.  So Garrett had his picture taken and gave a big smile and apparently Bryant went in later and got his picture taken and smiled.  Bryant told me that he just wanted  his picture by himself...I guess we'll see how their individual pictures turn out.  This was Garrett's outfit for the picture, I didn't get one of Bryant.

We had about a week of super nice weather, which has turned to quite chilly weather lately.  While it was warm, we enjoyed some ice cream out on the deck.

Garrett has been trying out his jumperoo lately and although he doesn't get the jumping part, he's usually pretty happy.

Which turned to sad

And back to happy!

He's not a big fan of tummy time at all (can you tell by that face???), but he is still starting to get pretty strong.

Bryant started soccer and it has been an extreme roller coaster ride.  The first week, his practice got rained out, so the first time he met his coach and teammates was at his first game.  Needless to say, he was not interested in playing.  Practice was a little better, but he mostly played before or after when fewer kids were there.  Last weekend, he actually played in the game, but held the coach's hand for most of it.  And this week, he didn't need to hold her hand at all, so we are making progress.  We still are trying to convince him to kick the ball.  He does so good and is so aggressive playing at home that it is hard to watch him not kick the ball.  We'll get there, but in the meantime, he is having fun just running around on the field.  And we need to work on playing at practice.  Last week, he pretty much refused to play at practice and told me he only wants to play in the games...So here's our cross country kiddo on the soccer field.

Check out his new Captain America hat!

I've been trying to clean out and organize more of the house before I go back to work and Bryant found our snorkel gear in my closet.  Him and dad had to try it out in the hot tub.

We also had a dance party the other night.  Not sure where Bryant learned his moves...

Even though Bryant didn't want to have his picture taken with Garrett at school, he still always wants to be around him.  Check out my two big boys in Garrett's crib

This happy little guy is starting to take an interest in toys and his hands, but he hasn't figured out how to use them together so that his hands can grab the toy

This week was still chilly, so this is how Garrett watched big brother's soccer game.

Bryant looks so ready to play defense, you would think he would kick the ball...

He also looks way older than all the kids out there, but he's not...

Garrett also had his first "sick" doctor visit as he got pink eye.  He has been in really good spirits other than goopy eyes, so it hasn't been bad, but we did get to see how much he weighed at the doctor...14 lbs 12 ozs...he gained a pound in about 3 weeks!  And we measured Bryant at home the other day to see how tall he was and he grew almost an inch in a little over 2 months!

And I was finally able to get my videos to upload, so here are Bryant's baseball video where he hits a homerun and Garrett's bath video where he's talking away.

2 Months Old!

This smiley little guy is 2 months old!

We've been busy this past week, which started with picking up a new bike for Bryant since he outgrew his bike from last year.

On Saturday, we took a trip to Great Falls to watch the Triangle Classic (Bobcat football scrimmage).  Bryant is always interested in the team names of who is playing and who is winning, so he was really confused why the Bobcats were playing against the Bobcats.

After the scrimmage, he got a big milkshake at lunch.

And we went to the Scheels in Great Falls.  Bryant has taken an interest in boxing the past couple months, so he thought it was pretty fun to try on the boxing gloves.

More smiles from Garrett

But he does have a pout face too...he didn't like the yawn sound that daddy was making!

Here's Bryant's pouting picture when he was about 2 months old too...these boys are definitely brothers!

On Sunday, we spent a couple hours at the park by where I grew up because they got new playground equipment.

Grandma Susie with the winner (and his winnings) of our family NCAA basketball tournament pool...yep, Garrett picked Villanova to win, so we all lost to a 2 month old...pretty sure he was thinking that he could beat us all in his sleep!

Garrett had his 2 month checkup on Monday and big brother Bryant really wanted to go to the doctor with him.  Garrett had a good checkup, but had to get 3 vaccine shots.  He was pretty unhappy that night and Bryant was super concerned.  Big brother has a huge heart and is a very sensitive kid, so he was in absolute tears when Garrett was crying because he didn't like that his brother didn't feel well.

Garrett is extremely fond of his big brother too - I couldn't get a good picture of Garrett looking at the camera and smiling because he was too busy watching everything his big brother was doing!

For Garrett's 2 month stats, he was 23.5 inches long (75%), 13 lbs 12 oz (83%), and 40.3 cm head circumference (84%).  Compared to Bryant at 2 months, they were the exact same height, Bryant was only 13 lbs, and Bryant's head was bigger (41 cm).  Sorry about the computer screen glare, but I still haven't figured out a better way to download the comparison charts, but here are the much anticipated comparisons with daddy, Bryant, and Garrett's height and weight:

Garrett has been getting pretty consistent in his sleep schedule and has been going to bed about 10:30 and waking up about 5:30, so were starting to work towards him sleeping in his own room instead of in ours, but haven't quite gotten there yet.

We've got a busy couple days ahead of us as Bryant has his first soccer practice tomorrow and first game on Saturday.  He's been reading a book about soccer every night for the past week or so and has a friend on the team, so fingers crossed that he won't be too shy to play...

Two Busy Weeks

I did a little travelling for work last week and got to bring my family along.  When we were in Missoula, we took a walk along the Clark Fork River.

Then in Billings, we took advantage of our hotel pool

And of course had to experience Scheels (huge sports store)

After a long week of travelling, Bryant was exhausted!  It's been a long time since I've seen him fall asleep while eating!

Then we got all ready for Trav's family to come.  We set up an air mattress in our room for Bryant to sleep on and the boys enjoyed hanging out on it before our company came.

Garrett really took a liking to Madeline.

Auntie Heather and the cousins taking good care of Garrett.

Cousin picture!

One of the days, we all went to Montana WILD.  There was a scavenger hunt for the kids that I think they thought was pretty fun.

Bryant's face cracks me up in this picture.  We were asking Olivia if she was a unicorn and Bryant was convinced that she couldn't possibly be a unicorn.

We also took a drive to White Sulphur Springs to soak in their hot springs.  I didn't get any pictures in the pool, but we did take a couple pictures in the car.

Bryant's cousins brought him a dinosaur art set, so the kids were all crafting away.

We also went to Exploration Works for some fun.

The mirror that makes you look smaller...

And taller...Bryant's face makes me laugh!

That night, the kids read us stories.

Madeline even read the one she wrote (How Daddy's hair got so, so, so, so red)

Garrett enjoyed it so much that he fell asleep

Pictures with Grandma and Grandpa.  I almost got everyone smiling and looking at the camera at the same time.

And Auntie Heather and Uncle Brian couldn't escape getting their picture with Garrett either:)

We are so glad we had everyone over to visit, but it went way too fast. Before bed, Bryant and I always talk about our favorite part of the day and it was playing with his cousins and then he said he was sad because they had to go home.  He already wants to start planning our trip to San Diego and create a paper chain so we can countdown the days...Thanks for coming - we miss you guys already!
