More Birthday and Firsts!

On Monday night, we had Bryant's birthday party.  He was so excited to have his party at the Brewers game and he said he wanted a baseball cake.

Bryant and his friends were having a great time playing at the park before the game...and then this happened...

The game was cancelled and there was a brief break in the rain so that we could have cake.  There was still lightning so we rushed through cake and presents and headed home.

Since everything was so rushed at his party, we came home and had another piece of cake and sang happy birthday.

Tuesday was his t-ball after season party where they got their medals.  Not very many kids made it, but they still had fun eating pizza at Godfathers and playing games.

Garrett has been doing better sleeping at night again so now we go check on him in the morning and if he is awake, he smiles away:)

Our vegetables that we transplanted into our garden haven't been doing very well, but we were surprised to find two big radishes!

Seems like every day this week Bryant was opening another present.  The Master Viewers have definitely upgraded since we were kids.  Now it does virtual reality with your phone!

Thursday night we headed to the fair.  I don't think Bryant was a big fan of the snakes...

Popcorn at the rodeo!

Garrett did so good for his first rodeo

Bryant's favorite event was the barrel racing.  He would clap so hard when the horses raced toward the end.

And of course we needed some deep fried oreos after the rodeo was over.

Garrett was jealous that he didn't get any

Then it was time for the rides!  Bryant did them all by himself!

With all the lights and noises, Garrett was wide awake all night.

We left at about 11:00 that night, so it was no surprise that both boys fell asleep on the car ride home.

Garrett was able to roll from his tummy to his back the other day, but I haven't seen him do it since.

And apparently when you turn 4, you don't need training wheels anymore.  We were so proud - check out this stud on his bike.

Garrett's face is saying "Did you see that? My brother doesn't need training wheels anymore!"

What better way to celebrate than to run through the sprinklers

Garrett has been so interested in food lately so Saturday morning he really wanted some pancakes.

We didn't let him have it, but we decided that we would let him try sweet potatoes that day.

Playing with more presents before we go shopping

We also decided that we would make our own slip and slide so off to Lowe's we went.  Garrett was not too thrilled about his brother's driving.

Is this how you eat sweet potatoes?

So excited for food

Without food, this is always Garrett's reaction to a spoon.

 First bite...

Yep, same reaction with food on the spoon:)

But still a happy little guy!

Bryant was my big helper at the grocery store and he's been eyeing this ball there for several months, so I finally caved and got it for him.  He was so excited.

And Garrett really liked it too.  There's something contagious about laughter from my boys:)

Happy 4th Birthday Bryant!

I can't believe Bryant is 4.  Before his birthday pictures, I have a few random pictures to catch up on.

After the golf at Fairmont, Bryant wanted to practice more of his putting.

We had our last t-ball games the week before his birthday.  He did pretty good his last week with batting and for the first time this season, he went after a ball in the outfield and threw it to first!

He was really swinging hard by the end, but still hesitant to run the bases if the other team was in the way.

After the last game, he wanted to run through the sprinklers.  He was soaked!

He was exhausted from all the week's activities and fell asleep on the way home from school on Friday.

On Saturday, Grandma and Grandpa watched the kids so Travis and I could go shopping for Bryant's birthday presents.  Since we already had a babysitter, we decided to turn in into a date afternoon.

Sunday was Bryant's actual birthday and after breakfast, it was time for presents.  We got him a Ninja Turtle card that spoke when you open it and Bryant thought it was hilarious!

Garrett had a great time watching his brother open presents

Then we took him to the Pets movie at the movie theater

Then back to Grandma and Grandpa's house for more presents.

Then we went home to play with his new slip and slide

And then off to dinner at Chilis.  We had dessert there because he seemed so tired that I didn't think he would make it home without falling asleep.

But I was wrong!  So when we got home, we had cake pops too!

I don't think I can put into words how awesome of a kid Bryant is.  I think at least once a week I comment to Travis about how lucky we are to have such good kids.  Bryant is so helpful, especially when it comes to his brother.  He gets a sticker almost every day at school for cleaning up so well.  He is super silly and is always coming up with ways to try and make us, his brother, or his friends laugh.  He has quite the imagination and loves to play super heroes and absolutely loves playing sports all day, every day.  He is shy and quiet around people he doesn't know, but is getting braver all the time.  He is definitely still a momma's boy, so I still get a lot of snuggles and the Big Bryant Bear hugs are awesome.  These first 4 years have been quite an adventure and we can't wait to see what the next year has in store for him!  Happy birthday bud - we love you bunches!
