Bobcat Game Day

Bobcat football started last night.  A new year means a bigger jersey (size 2T) for Bryant, but the luck still remains as the Cats won big!
I guess I should clarify that the jersey is good luck for the Cats, not so much for Bryant.  We got another accident report from daycare.  He was playing outside and hit his head on the slide and got quite the bruise on his forehead...

I have been meaning for awhile to get pictures of Bryant in his baby swing and tonight was a perfect night.  He got to swing for a little bit, but it didn't last too long.  Now that Bryant is walking so much, he seems to have his own agenda - it's pretty entertaining to watch:)

He's very much into doing things himself (as played out in the next two pictures)
Bryant can you put your sunglasses back on?

haha...good job...thanks, buddy...

It's pretty funny to watch him walk around too because he always holds his ears when he walks.  We had bought him some size 4 sandals for his birthday, but he's quickly grown into his size 5 Nikes that we got from a friend when Bryant was a baby.

It's sorta hard to see everything in this picture, but I really like it...dada, Mocha, and Bryant going for a walk through the yard:)

Flashback

I found this picture of Travis at 8 1/2 months and Bryant makes that same exact face!

I pulled up a picture of Bryant at 8 1/2 months to compare...like father, like son:)

13 Months

I am a little belated in posting this 13th month update and it is mostly because I couldn't believe a month had gone by since Bryant's birthday.  So much has happened in the past month.  Bryant has really grown and learned so much that I am actually starting to see him more as a toddler and less as a baby.  He is walking a lot now.  Any sign language we taught him has been replaced by pointing and saying "uhh" or "baa".  He is getting really good about using a straw.  His little personality is coming out more and more...he is always smiling and laughing and making us laugh.

Last Sunday, we ventured to the fair in Boulder.  There were hardly any animals or displays, so we only stayed for an hour or two, but it was fun to get out and enjoy the sunshine!  Bryant enjoyed the music and watching all the older kids act crazy in the bounce houses and toys.

When we got back, Bryant found his baby carseat and decided to play a game of peek-a-boo

Where's Bryant?

Boo!
Later that night, I stuck my finger in his mouth to check out the progress of his two top teeth and discovered he had a bottom tooth that popped through too.  It is incredibly hard to get a picture of his teeth. I was making crazy faces to see his teeth and this was Bryant copying my crazy face, but I did get his bottom tooth:)
Happy 13th month birthday, sweet boy:)

Busy Week of Firsts

This past week has been a busy one in the Handl household and Bryant experienced a lot more firsts.  He got to play with play-doh for the first time.  Here he is saying that he is "so big"!

Monday afternoon, we got a call from daycare that Bryant fell and hit his mouth causing him to bleed and he had a temperature.  Turns out all he wanted were his two front teeth!  So, we have all survived our first round of teething with I'm sure, a lot more to come shortly.

Travis was off this weekend, so we decided to head to the cabin at Henry's Lake.  Just outside of Whitehall, we spotted two moose.

Bryant has been a bit of a picky eater lately with his teeth bothering him, but here he is enjoying his pancakes made with freshly picked service berries.

After breakfast, we got all dressed for Bryant to take his first boat ride!

They have such beautiful flowers blooming right now that I had to take advantage and get a few pictures.  You'll notice his shades are a different color...we lost the other pair, but Babiators replaces any lost, stolen, or broken sunglasses, so now Bryant has blue:)

Driving the boat was by far his favorite thing:)

He was so comfortable behind the wheel that he even had time for a game of peek-a-boo

After a trip to West Yellowstone for pizza, Bryant got to enjoy some Graham-a Crackers:)

Today was another fun day with bubbles in his cabin lawn chair

And then he got to share some fresh picked service berries with Grandpa.  He absolutely loved those berries, so we picked a whole bunch to bring home with us too.

Thanks for the great weekend Grandma and Grandpa!

Swingset

Bryant was outgrowing his carseat, so we ordered the next size up and he got to take his first ride in it today.  He seemed to enjoy the ride and was chatting away.

Bryant got a new swingset for his birthday.  He's been playing on it for at least a week, but I hadn't been able to get any pictures until tonight.

He has fun on the slide

"climbing" the rock wall

playing in the fort

and swinging.  We ordered a baby swing, but it hasn't arrived yet, so for now, he gets to swing like a big boy.

He absolutely loves his dog and will giggle anytime she comes near:)

What a fun night with a happy, little boy!

Our Walker!

I know I said this in the blog post yesterday, but Bryant really is making huge strides (no pun intended!) in his walking every day.  Now when he is standing up next to an object, his first reaction is considering whether he is close enough to something else to walk to it, rather than immediately dropping to his knees and crawling.  Tonight he was in constant motion, pushing his truck around in circles...we can only imagine how much "fun" we are in for when he is running everywhere!  Here's proof of some of his first steps:)

More Firsts

Bryant had his 1 year doctor appointment on July 26th and here were his stats:
Length: 30 inches (56%)
Weight: 22 pounds 6 ounces (67%)
Head Circumference: 48 1/4 centimeters (95%)

Travis didn't have his baby stats for 12 months, so you'll have to wait for a comparison until Bryant is 15 months:)

The big news is that Bryant took his first steps on August 3rd!  Each night he continues to take a few steps and is getting more and more confident and brave.  I don't think it'll be long before he's running everywhere!

On Sunday, Bryant and I went to Belgrade to celebrate his cousin, Reagan's 2nd birthday.  We had a great time, but unfortunately, the only picture I got was Bryant in his Little Pony party hat.  We tried to get Bryant to eat some cake after his birthday party and he didn't ever want to try any, but at Reagan's party, he ate some.  I think ice cream is still his favorite treat:)
