More T-ball!

The month of June has been a bit crazy for us as we have been trying to fix up our rental house to see if we can take advantage of the good real estate market right now.  So, that's my excuse for not posting about Father's Day.  We did celebrate it with daddy and both grandpas, but I didn't take a single picture...I think I was so excited to not be working on the house that I just didn't do anything!  With that being said, I'll have to do a delayed Father's Day post.  In the meantime, I wanted to give an update of Bryant's first t-ball game last Thursday.  He is such a lucky boy and had quite the crowd watching him play - Mom, Dad, and both sets of grandparents!

He was a bit nervous to bat the first time, so we had to skip his turn and he got to bat at the end of the lineup.  The rules for t-ball are that everyone gets to bat each inning, if you don't get a hit after 5 swings you get to go to first base, you advance one base at a time, and the last batter gets to hit a home run.  I'm not sure if Bryant purposely skipped his turn so he could hit a home run or not, but here he is running the bases.

The second inning, he got up to bat and did pretty well.

I was surprised how much progress their team has made since their first practice 3 weeks ago.  I didn't think they stood a chance, but they actually sorta looked like they knew more of what they were doing compared to the other team.  The other team didn't have many players and we had a slight game delay when they all had to go to the bathroom at once...it sure is pretty entertaining watching this age group!  Bryant still cries and throws a fit every time his team does their team cheer and then we spend the rest of the night cheering "Go Marlins".  I'm not sure what that's about, but hopefully we get the team cheer figure out soon.

On another totally unrelated note - this week, Bryant's class learned about frogs - Bryant's comment was that they hop in his house. Hmmmm...quite the imagination he has!

T-ball and More

I have been meaning to post about what Bryant's class does on Monday for awhile, but I keep forgetting.  This Monday was picture-worthy, so it helped me remember.  On Mondays, they do what they call webbing.  They give the kids a topic and all the kids get to say something about it.  They have had discussions about the farm - Bryant said "cows eat carrots".  They had two discussions on dinosaurs - Bryant said "Dinosaurs are really big" and "Dinosaurs eat bones".  I always look forward to picking Bryant up on Monday to see what they talked about and what him and all his friends said.  So here's this week:

We had another t-ball practice on Tuesday.  They can be somewhat painful for Trav and I since we know what Bryant can do at home and he refuses to do it at practice.  This was Bryant when he was supposed to be playing 3rd base...

He didn't want to hit this week or wear his helmet until Daddy threw him a couple pitches then he finally felt comfortable enough to use the tee. After he got into it a little bit, he turned his hat around and was ready to go.

Running the bases proves to be very interesting.  In this video, Bryant was supposed to be standing on 2nd base waiting for his teammate to get a hit.

He refused to cheer again, so we talked to him about that on the way home.  Then for the rest of the night, we played t-ball at the house and he wanted to cheer "Go Marlins!".  We'll see how next week goes.  They have practice on Tuesday and their first game on Thursday.

Although this next picture is fuzzy, you still get the point.  Bryant must be going through a growth spurt because he has been eating and sleeping a lot.  I can't remember the last time he fell asleep in the car before 7:00 pm when he had an afternoon nap, but he sure did tonight!

T-ball

Bryant had his first t-ball practice on Tuesday.  His team name is the Marlins and they have their first game in a couple weeks.  I wasn't sure how he would do since he is such a shy kid, but he did pretty good.  He didn't want to talk to his coach and we had a few tears when he realized he didn't get to have every ball that was hit.  He also didn't like the team cheer at the end.  But he did play catch with another little girl and was excited to play again next week.

I don't know if it was because he was being shy or because he was watching the other kids or because he had to hit off a tee, but when it was his turn to bat it was like he had never done it before.  So, we set up the tee at home and he was swinging like crazy!

And a few other random pictures from last week:

Bryant wanted to put on his suspenders over his pajamas the other day.  I'm not sure why he gave me such a serious face, but he thought he looked super cool.

Catch-up Post

I've been overdue for a post and it keeps getting delayed more because I get more and more pictures and videos and I knew it would take some time.  So, here it goes!

The other day, Bryant wanted McDonalds after swimming lessons and they have decorations on the box for your milk carton.  Who needs to decorate their milk carton when you can put them on your head?

He's been really trying to be very independent lately, which includes picking out his own clothes and getting dressed.  He thinks he is so silly when he gets his shirt on backwards.

Over Memorial Day weekend, we went to the Museum of the Rockies one day and hiked Mount Helena with Grandma and Grandpa another day.  We brought Bryant's stroller thinking that he might get tired.  He started up the mountain thinking that the hike was pretty relaxing.

But then decided to walk and he ended up doing really great.

He thought the cave on the way to the top was super cool!

He was getting a little hungry, so we didn't quite make it to the top.  We still got pretty close and got some great views.

Afterwards, we had a barbecue at Grandma and Grandpa's house and what's a barbecue without lawn darts?

Bryant had quite the form and there weren't too many safe spots on the lawn.

The next weekend, we headed to Holter Lake to go camping with friends.  The weather was pretty rainy, but that didn't stop us from having fun!

Bryant and Gage had squirt guns and Bryant decided to instigate a water fight.

Turns out it is only fun when he gets to do the squirting:)  So then, he decided to get revenge (or so we thought)

It was a good thing we brought bikes.  Bryant liked Gage's bike better and Gage liked riding Bryant's, so with very little teaching, Bryant learned how to ride a pedal bike (with training wheels)

I had a couple random pictures from this past week too.  Bryant found Travis' old track jersey and wanted to try it on.

Grandpa and Grandpa Zanto just got back from New Orleans and brought Bryant a silly shirt.  He was so excited to show it to all of his friends at school the next day!

And last, but not least, here's a song from Bryant:
