Videos

We had fun recording videos tonight. Bryant likes to watch himself perform on camera...maybe we have a movie star in the making:)

I started recording videos after I figured out what Bryant was doing. To start, he ran over to a shelf where we had a bobble head pug. He kept pointing and saying dog, dog, so I pulled it down for him to play with. Then he kept tilting the dog face down. At first I thought he was having the dog eat and then he said "night, night" and I realized he was putting the dog to bed. I got more animals for him to put to bed and when I told him to have them go to bed, he dropped his lower lip in a big old pout and almost started to cry. Once I convinced him that he didn't have to go to bed, it became quite the fun game to put his animals to bed! Notice how he has to tip the animal over and pat its back. (I also want to say that although I was bragging about how much better his enunciation was, we still have a ways to go before others can understand what he is saying)

Since he was  in the performing mood, I had him point out body parts. We always laugh how he points to his mouth when you ask where Bryant is (or Biant as he says).

19 Months

Another month has flown by and yet again, I am amazed at the progress Bryant has made. I have also realized he acts very different when Travis or I are around other people. He apparently is much more outgoing with other people if we are not there!

His language is progressing quite well (in my biased parent opinion, of course). He knew words like book before, but only said "ba". Now he is enunciating better and it sounds like book. I have lost track of the number of words, but can tell there has been a lot of progress since last month.

He can point out several animals, objects, and body parts when asked. He still has his 'feed Mocha' chore and is very helpful with cleaning up. He loves to throw garbage away! He also likes to "tickle, tickle" anything from Mocha to a baby or animal in a book.  He still loves cars, animals, books, coloring, and playing outside. Even though he is very active and playful, he also is very caring and shows a great deal of concern for any kid that is crying.

Bryant is a pretty laid back kid and Travis and I seem to comment at least once a week about how lucky we got with Bryant being such a good kid. Happy 19th month birthday buddy!

Now to update on last weekend...we just hung out at home with a few trips into town. One stop being Exploration Works. I just had my phone so the pictures aren't the best, but that didn't stop us from having fun.  First stop, playing in the water. Bryant apparently figured out how to link the pipes and spray water across the building.

All the exhibits  involved some type of motion and there was one that moved a ball across the table according to your brain activity.  The goal was to relax your brain. I couldn't seem to even come close to beating Travis, so I had to compete against Bryant. I was finally able to win (yes I am competitive), but I was also amazed at all the activity going on in Bryant 's little brain!

Last but not least, we got to play on the slide!

I'd definitely say Bryant has grown a ton since the last time we played here!

Cabin Fever

This weekend was a three-day weekend for us, so Saturday morning we were trying to figure out our weekend plans and decided to head to the cabin at Henry's Lake.  We grabbed some donuts and headed out.  Bryant really enjoyed them, but he sure made a mess!

We made a quick stop at Grandma and Grandpa's house in Whitehall and Bryant got to help feed the llamas.  When we stopped on the way back from the cabin, I thought Bryant was saying "mama"...turns out, he was saying "llama".

The next stop on the way to the cabin was Ennis.  We had lunch at our usual place (Bynee's), but then went down the street to take a look at the new distillery that had opened up about a year ago.  You can see Travis in the back getting a personal tour of how the bourbon is made while I enjoyed my drink:)  It was a really neat place, so I'm sure we will be stopping by there again!

There was definitely a lot of snow up at the cabin

So, we parked above, loaded up our stuff in the sled, and rode down to the cabin.

There was a bit of snow on the front porch!

After we got all settled in, we headed out to go sledding.  When we got back, we found a few visitors not too far from the front deck.  Be prepared...from now forward in this blog post, you will be overwhelmed with moose pictures..  They are all a bit far away, so I'm thinking that is a good excuse to get another lens for my camera!

Bryant loved looking at the moose.  I was outside taking pictures and he was watching through the window.

Getting ready for more play time outside

I love this picture of my boys!!!
The snow was up to Trav and my knees

and Bryant's waist!

 And the moose is back!

We had a lot of fun watching the moose from the window.  The little moose ended up sleeping in that spot last night.
Getting ready for bed last night, Bryant thought it was important to put his boots on...

and then Trav's hat...

and then my gloves...

and then his hat and gloves.  I think someone was trying to put off bed time!

This morning we headed outside again for more sledding.  We found a great hill, so I captured a bit on camera.  The sledding the day before was much better because the snow was soft.  We got a little bit of rain that night, so today was extra slick and the snow was not as forgiving...Here goes Travis...

Bryant's turn...my favorite part is at the very end:)

If you couldn't understand him, he says "all done".  But as you can see by the next picture, he really did enjoy sledding!

Then, Trav and Bryant were knocking icicles off the roof

One last play time on the deck and we headed home.

And since my post has had so many animal pictures, why not throw in a picture of the big horn sheep we spotted on our way home!

We had a blast this weekend and Bryant was definitely worn out since he went to bed an hour early!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Last weekend we headed to Bozeman even though Bryant had a fever.  Well, his fever didn't end up going away until Wednesday, so he was home pretty much all week.  He didn't seem to be too phased by the cold, so we still got some play time in, Mocha included.  Although he really loves his dog, he also loves to tell her "no, no, Mocha".

By Friday, he was all better and was back in daycare.  That night, he got to open his gifts and I think both his grandparents must have coordinated together because they both got him frog-themed gifts:)

At night, it is hard to get Bryant to sit still for pictures, so that was the best I could do with his presents.  I did manage to get a few other cute ones though.

He got an art easel for Christmas, but all the parts weren't in the box.  We finally got all the parts and Bryant loves it!
Uh oh, watch out, Bryant is driving and talking on a cell phone...

Our week was a little hectic having a sick little boy, but we got the best present...our healthy little boy back! Happy Valentine's Day Bryant!

Weekend Update

Last weekend was the Super Bowl and Bryant hosted a party so both sets of grandparents could come over and play.  He had his football jersey and his Bronco socks on and picked out the best seat in the house.

Add a drink in the cupholder and his "Peyton" doll, he was all set!

Unfortunately the game wasn't as exciting as we were hoping, but Bryant wouldn't let his party be boring, so he was his normal entertaining self:)

This weekend we headed to Bozeman for a weekend of fun.  Bryant actually was running a fever on Friday and Saturday, but he didn't seem too sick (if he didn't have a little cough, I would think he was just cutting a tooth), so we continued with our weekend plans.  The place we had lunch had lots of kids toys, which included a chalk board.  I don't think Bryant ate any of his lunch, but he sure had fun drawing and then erasing!

Here he is driving the school bus.  It also has letters of the alphabet with pictures on them.  I was playing with Bryant and he said "owl".  I looked down and sure enough he spotted an owl.  It amazes me that he can tell the difference between a bird and an owl.  Owl and Elmo are our two favorite words to hear Bryant say.  Somewhat of a side story, but tonight we were playing in the tub and I would ask about a body part and he would point it out from his hair and tongue, to elbows and knees.  He knew them all!  A couple of minutes later, Travis came in and I was going to show him how smart our kid is, so I asked Bryant where his elbow was, and all he could say was...ELMO!

For dinner that night, Bryant got an Oreo cookie with his meal.  He sure knows how to make a mess!  We were also wondering how he learned that Oreos are better if you peel the cookie apart and just eat the filling...

That night, we went to the Bobcat basketball game.  Bryant had a really fun time and again loved Champ from a distance.  He would wave to him when he was far away, but as soon as he got close, he cried.  Between the fever, only getting a short nap, and staying up past his bed time to watch the end of the game, Bryant was pretty tired towards the end, but he didn't crash until we got back to the hotel.

Today we did a little shopping before the Museum of the Rockies opened.  Bryant always loves hats and we like to put hats on him...this was our favorite:)

Then we headed off to the Museum.  They have a Yellowstone Room for kids up to 8 years of age.  We headed there first and Bryant went fishing

He found a train set and would say Choo Choo as he drove it around

And we saw dinosaurs!

Bryant seemed to be on the mend today and he was a trooper for hanging in and having fun all weekend.  It's hard to believe how fast our weekends go by now that we get to hang out as a family!
