Castle

Bryant had so much fun in the bouncy house at his friend's birthday party, that we decided to get him one too.  He had no idea what it was when we pulled it out of the box, but was still excited anyway.

What's that?
It was a bit rainy and cold outside, so we set it up in our basement

jump on bed?

He loved to jump, jump, jump!

Once we deflated it, he kept wanting to throw more balls in there.

He had so much fun and now wants to jump in castle instead of jump in bed:)

On another note, today we were heading out to a car show and this was the hat Bryant decided he wanted to wear...silly kid!

23 Month Update

I have a lot of random pictures and videos from the past week, so sorry if this blog post doesn't "flow", but I just want to make sure I capture all of Bryant's cute little moments:)

The other day, he finally felt comfortable enough to sit with dad on the lawn mower while it was running.  Next thing you know he is driving!  You can definitely tell he is already right handed because he kept turning right handed circles.

It's not easy to drive and wave, but he has got it down.

Last Saturday, we went to Holter Lake for the afternoon.  Bryant had so much fun playing with some buddies and you couldn't beat the views!

Blueberry, anyone?
On Sunday, we decided to get Bryant his very own pet.  We thought we would start small, so he got a fish that we named Skittles.  He hangs on the wall where Bryant can reach and feed him (hopefully just fish food).

He also needed a pair of swim trunks and water shoes for daycare, so we had him try them on at home to make sure they fit.  He loved them and immediately thought he got to play in the hot tub.  The shoes are flip flops that go between his toes and after awhile he decided they were too tight between his toes.

The other night we were changing sheets on his bed and he got super excited that he could 'jump on bed'.  So much that he yelled it over and over in a high pitched voice as he jumped and jumped and landed on his butt.

Bryant has seemed to have pretty good hand-eye coordination, but it has improved even more so in the past week or so.  I would bet out of 8 pitches that we threw to Bryant tonight, he hit 6 of them!  The first video shows his batting stance

In this video, he starts by saying "number 1" very quietly and holding up one finger.  It's not cocky if he backs it up with a hit, right?

Last, but not least, he plays a little catch.  He's getting better about catching with just his hands and his throws have become a lot more accurate.

It is hard to believe my little boy will be 2 years old in a month.  He definitely acts like a 2 year old and not like a baby, but I can't believe how fast 2 years actually went.

Celebrations

Yesterday, Bryant went to his friend Avery's 3rd birthday party.  They had a little bounce house set up and at first he was very hesitant and wouldn't go in there if other kids were in there.  By the end of the party, he was bouncing around with all the kids and having a great time.

Give this boy a little sugar and it'll take the shyness right out of him.  He was really enjoying this sucker!

We got to continue the weekend of celebrations with Father's Day today.

Admiring his picture
Bryant decided this morning that he wanted to help dad drink his coffee.

I was shocked that he liked it, but this was his "yummy" face

He burned off some energy by riding his bike around the house for awhile.

He absolutely cracks me up with the things he does and today was no different.  He is big into wearing his "helmet" when he rides his bike, which is a good thing, except for the fact that he only likes to wear the plastic lining and not the helmet!

Bryant and I decided to make daddy cookies for a special dessert.  As I was baking away and getting ready to put another batch of cookies on the cooling racks, I noticed this...

Bryant snuck a bite of cookie and placed it perfectly back on the counter.  This means a couple things - he is getting taller and he is getting sneakier!

Bryant loves his daddy so much that he ate  half his cookies!  Thanks Trav for being such a great (understanding) daddy!  Happy Father's Day to all those great dads:)

Sports Day

I have said this a lot, but Bryant loves playing ball.  We went and watched some soccer today and he thought that was fun and he should get to play too.  So we went home and kicked the ball around.  I had a hard time picking which pictures I liked best, so there are a lot!

Bryant thought Dad couldn't kick the ball if he sat on it
We also played basketball.  He was quite the defender

And wanted to copy Dad's dribbling skills

He really wanted to spin the basketball on his finger like daddy too
 Such a big boy!

Chasing Birds

After we got home the other night, Bryant decided he wanted to chase birds outside our house.  In his words:
Bird.  I get it.

Where go?  Away?

There it is.  I see it!

I tried to get a few other pictures, but he wasn't interested in sitting still, so here are just a few more random pictures from the past week.

He got a big sucker at the store and was really enjoyed making a super sticky mess.

Lookin' stylish in his glasses

Enjoying the nice weather at the park

He loves to vacuum and apparently at this point decided he was all done

We are still struggling with getting him to go to bed at a decent time and take naps on the weekend.  Last weekend, he crashed at about 5 pm and I just let him sleep on my chest.  With him constantly on the move, I wanted to take the opportunity to snuggle with my little boy!

We don't have our garden set up yet, but I thought Bryant would like eating fresh fruits and veggies, so we planted a few in small planters.  We have been watching one strawberry ripen and it was ready today.  I think he enjoyed his first strawberry from our "garden".  I am assuming it was delicious because he ate it up so fast that I didn't even get a bite!
