Happy Fathers Day and More!

One of Bryant's friends had their birthday party at the bowling alley.  Bryant had never been bowling before, but he had a great time.  He wanted to make sure no one took his ball, so he stayed by his ball the entire time.

He started out bowling with a little plastic dinosaur thing that helped guide the direction of your ball and by the end, he wanted to bowl like his dad.

Garrett thought the fan on the ball return was the coolest thing (literally and figuratively!).

We set up a tent and an air mattress in the basement, so Bryant went "camping out" downstairs.  Camping is exhausting!

Having fun playing on the playset

Garrett has no fear on slides!

Working on Father's Day presents

It was a cold day so we headed to the library for some play time and new books.

It's hard to see, but we had 2 little wild kitties (only one in the picture) in our yard.  Bryant really wants them to be our friends, but the kitties ran away pretty fast.

This little boy loves shoes and putting everything in his mouth, so combine the two and you have an extremely happy kid!

Garrett thinks flying kites is super easy!

Happy Father's day to all the awesome dads out there, and especially to this dad of our 2 cute little boys!

We headed to Whitehall on Sunday and got in some park time. As you can see in the background, the big kids had just as much fun playing on the toys as the little kids:)

Garrett loves all things adrenaline.  He doesn't mind swinging high or going fast down the slide.  Bryant is much more cautious.

Helping Grandpa with some yard work

You can sorta see him in the royal blue shirt.  I hope I don't jinx myself, but this was the first time we didn't have to be out there with him.  He went out with his coach by himself, followed instructions, and had a great time.  Makes it a much more enjoyable experience for all.  Yay!!!  Oh and they are the Yankees, so Grandpa Jack is excited too:)

Preschool Graduation

To celebrate preschool graduation, we started off the day at Bryant's favorite breakfast spot...Dirty Dozen donuts.
A lot of kids in Bryant's class were leaving preschool for the summer because they had older siblings, so they held their preschool graduation before all the kids left.

They sang a couple different songs (I'm a little teapot)

(If you are happy and you know it - 2 videos because it was too big to upload as 1 video)

They also sang a song about the color red and "Do your ears hang low"

Then they each walked up to get their graduation certificate and a book of pictures from all the years at Creative Horizons

and then we got to enjoy ice cream!

Seeing Class of 2030 made us feel old!

Congrats preschool grad!

Here's his picture book...I don't know why some of the pictures rotated, but I can't fix it.

This would have been from his 2nd birthday

Some of his best friends had been at Creative Horizons the whole time.  Crazy to see how much they grow over 5 years!

The picture in the bottom right is when Bryant got to bring Mocha in for pet week.  Mocha did so well surrounded by a whole bunch of 3 year old hands!

Mocha is in the middle picture too

Congrats on your preschool graduation, Bryant!

Catch-Up Post - 2nd Half

School pictures for the boys came in and I love how they turned out!

Soccer pictures came in too...a lot of work went into getting him in front of the camera.  Once he got in front of the camera, he was all smiles.

We're loving the warm weather - Garrett got his first ride on the electric scooter.

Why not take advantage of the windy weather too and fly kites!

We recently got Bryant a library card and have taken a couple trips to the library.  Both kids love the toys and the books.

Look at the little Gare-sized backpack!

Over Memorial Day, we headed to the cabin, but first time for Bryant's favorite breakfast...donuts!

Lots of fun at the cabin!

Boat rides!

Bryant LOVED driving!

Boating wore the little guy out.

Having fun while brother drove the boat.

Busy weekend sure wore out the kiddos.

Cute kids sporting some new outfits...I can't believe how grown up they are looking.

Here's a better picture of our little neighborhood fox.  I've been running outside in the mornings and he usually waits for me to take his picture and then runs off.

We took our camper out for its first trip.  We met up with Trav's high school/college buddy and their family at Canyon Ferry.  It was a pretty short distance for us, but it was a blast!  Bryant had so much fun playing with the other kids.  I was worried it would take him a little bit to warm up, but they were the best of friends after about 5 minutes.  I didn't get hardly any pictures, but the camping memories will last forever!

Last week, we made a trip to Lowes to pick up some seeds to start our garden.  The boys had so much fun driving the cart.  So much so that we had a meltdown the whole way home because we couldn't bring the cart with us.

Now for the belated 15 (and now 16) month update.  Garrett is still our Gare-Bear, but he's also earned a new nickname...he is a sour patch kid.  He'll hit someone and then snuggle up and give them a big hug.  He can be the feistiest but most loveable little kid.  He's always on the go and has the cutest little run/hop/straddle walk.  He points out his body parts like eyes, nose, mouth, ears, but his favorite (just like his older brother at this age) is pointing at his belly.  He uses more and more words, but they all somewhat sound alike, so it's nice that he still uses some sign language.  He is obsessed with shoes whether they are his or not and loves to be outdoors.  He seems to be allergic to most sunscreens, so it definitely makes it challenging trying to let him play outside, but not breakout in a rash.  He wants to copy everything his brother does and also knows how to poke his brother's buttons.  He loves animals and always tries to hug Mocha and other dogs by laying his head on them.  If he has a shy bone in his body, I haven't found it yet.  Even at dinner the other night, he waved bye to everyone that walked by.  And my favorite is his absolutely contagious laugh.

At 15 months, Garrett weighed 26 pounds 12 ounces, was 32.25 inches long, and head circumference was 49.8 cm.  Compared to Travis and Bryant, their heights were almost identical and his weight is more in line with them too.  I've had a lot of people tell me lately that Garrett is looking more and more like his brother, but I think they are looking different...maybe it is because Garrett has more hair than Bryant did at this age.  Bryant didn't have his first haircut until he was almost 2 years old.  I don't think I'm going to be able to make it that long with Garrett!

So, I'm almost caught up now!  Next post will be about Bryant's preschool graduation!
